Valentine's Day...

For the Parkland kids from many of their own words.

For every kid that gets dropped off in the morning and wonders what will happen.

Very close to our home and our life but national in scope.

Dude’s got a gun.

Everybody run.

Where you supposed to go?

Nobody knows

Bodies in the halls

Bullets in the walls

Kids running screaming through the thick red mud

Of hearts and flowers covered in blood.

Valentine’s blood.

Massacre blood.

Valentine’s Day Massacre Blood

Stop this game, we’ve had enough,

No more death, we’ve had enough

Enough.

Thoughts and prayers

Just means they don’t care

If you play their game, it always ends the same:

Bodies in the halls, splattered on the walls

Kids running screaming through the thick red mud

Of backpacks and letters covered in blood

Innocent blood.

Massacre blood.

Valentine’s Day Massacre Blood.

N.R.A. pays to play

While the politicians dash for the bags of cash

You kiss us goodbye,

Leave us to die?

Or wake up screaming from the technicolor dreams

Of friends and teachers covered in blood

Innocent blood.

Massacre blood.

Valentine’s Day Massacre Blood.
